The President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko left for the Kingdom of Belgium with working visit in order to take part in summit of European People’s Party.
According to UNIAN reporter it is planned that the Pressident of Ukraine will meet the High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy, Secretary-General of the Council of the European Union Javier Solana.
It is also expected that during the summit Mr. Yushchenko will communicate with the Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel to discuss the issue of Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine in the context of Ukraine’s applying to join the Plan of actions on NATO membership.
Also Mr. Yushchenko plans to meet the prime minister of Poland Donald Tusk in Brussels today.
According to the press service of the president, it is planned that in the course of his visit to Brussels Mr.Yushchenko will make his European colleagues with the internal political situation in Ukraine and the situation with gas supply to Ukraine and its transit to European countries.
Also general questions concerning regulating the situation at Ukrainian – Polish border will be discussed.
Today in the evening the president will leave for the Republic of Poland with working visit to stay the on March 13 and 14.
