«The government promised to raise minimum wages and pensions in the first quarter 2007 but is not going to do» – the deputy head of the budgetary committee, member of the OU faction Pavlo Zhebrivskyi said in his interview to Razom site.
According to him, Mr. Yanukovych is talking about some positive moments in his policy but ordinary Ukrainians don’t feel it. «In fact the PM refused to introduce changes into the law on state budget – he noted.
»The Verkhovna Rada decree from Dec. 22, 2006 on social indices’ rise was adopted as a prerequisite for the state budget’s signature by the president» – Mr. Zhebrivskyi added.
»As the government does not keep its word, the president decided to submit the draft law on social standards’ rise to ensure decent wages and pension – he noted. – I am sure that the Ukrainian President will finally make Mr. Yanukovych turn his face to people».
