The Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko asks the government and the governors to take under their control the situation with wage arrears in state and communal sector.

That’s what the deputy chief of staff Viktor Bondar said at a today’s press briefing.

Mr. Bondar emphasized that Mr. Yushchenko was worried about the wage arrears in all Ukrainian regions at national and communal enterprises.

The deputy chief of staff noted that it was connected with the law introducing tenders on state purchases. According to him, it lasted for 4-5 month and did not let enterprises to pay salaries in time.

Mr. Bondar has paid the government’s attention to the necessity of creation of additional terms to enable enterprises to pay salaries in time.
