The Our Ukraine and the People’s Self-Defense have similar preconditions for appearance. «The Our Ukraine appeared as a result of great public activity during and after the Orange revolution. The People’s Self-Defense appears as a public force supported by people who want to have an active public position but are not ready to be a party member» – the Our Ukraine leader in the parliament V. Kyrylenko said in the air of «Epicenter» TV programme.

He noted that the Our Ukraine was a political party with its purposes.» It is NATO and European integration, strengthening of the status of Ukrainian language, considering UPA soldiers the World War II veterans. These important national issues as well as liberal values are important for us, we will implement them» – he said.

»But we support public initiatives that serve strengthening of democracy. We will co-operate with the People’s Self-Defense» – the MP stressed.
