The Political Council of the European People’s Party takes place in Brussels. Honorary representative of the Our Ukraine bloc is ex-Foreign Minister Borys Tarasyuk.

Mr. Tarasyuk had a speech before leaders of more than 60 right-center parties in Europe and informed colleagues on his decision to leave his post on Jan. 30, 2007.

»Our opponents, Viktor Yanukovych’s government made another attempt to revenge trying to dismiss a minister under presidential quota and adopt the cabinet law that restricted the presidential power» – Mr. Tarasyuk said. He added that a decision to create a democratic opposition coalition in the parliament had been taken afterwards. Its purpose is to oppose to the attempts of revenge and become a powerful instrument in struggle against government coalition.

The EPP President Mr. Martens expressed his hope for future co-operation and similar dialogue with parties-partners.
