The President Viktor Yushchenko declared that in ten years’ time Ukraine would get a full EU membership.

»I believe in it, I am convinced about it» – the president noted in his interview to German TV channel «N-TV».

According to Mr. Yushchenko, we put emphasis on pragmatic relations of Ukraine with the EU in precise projects and industries, in energy security in particular.

He emphasized that Ukraine wanted to send the following message to the EU. The message is that the best stabilizing factor for Ukraine’s gas transport system is to make it a part of European market.

The president thinks that a pledge of success in energy projects is a common strategy between producer, consumer and transitory country.

Talking about European energy market, Mr. Yushchenko said that the will of the country-producer could not be dominating.

»We start to understand our tie-up. Co-operation at energy market is a system of common responsibility» – the president stressed.
