People’s deputy, member of the Our Ukraine faction Henadiy Udovenko has expressed his hope that the Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev’s visit to Kyiv would lead to a development of Ukrainian-Kazakh relations not only in economic, but in social sphere as well.

»Kazakhstan has prospects to occupy a decent place among the so-called «Asian tigers». Economy developed very fast in a short period of time in such Asian countries as Malasia, Singapore, Vietnam and Thailand. Kazakhstan is a rather influential state in Asia» – Mr. Udovenko noted.

He reminded that many people had moved to Kazakhstan from Ukraine in the middle of the last century. «There is a powerful Ukrainian diaspora there. We should remember about ethnic Ukrainians, care about support of cultural ties.»

»Finally, we will not reduce our relations to gas and oil. We have to participate in a development of bilateral ties. For example, Kazakhstan’s experience in ethno national policy can be useful for Ukraine» – he summed up.
