«The new Foreign Minister should stand for national interests and not sue for a favour of other states.» – people’s deputy, a member of the Our Ukraine faction Henadiy Udovenko said.
»Ukraine had chosen its path a long ago. It is pro-European way of development that foresees Ukraine’s integration into NATO and European structures» – he noted.
Henadiy Udovenko said that the ex-Foreign Minister Borys Tarasyuk was a person who understood the importance of pro-European development of Ukraine. «The fifth column in the parliament and the so-called «anti-crisis» coalition didn’t like his activity. Therefore there was a pressure on the Foreign Ministry.» – Mr. Udovenko said.
People’s deputy added that he had submitted the bill on bases of foreign policy to the parliament. «MP Oleh Bilous has submitted a similar bill. We plan to present a common bill when the third session starts» – Mr. Udovenko said.
»At that time we must develop our ties with our neigbour Russia but on the base of bilateral agreement on co-operation and partnership» – he noted.
