«Few patriots had been passing the truth about the Kruty battle from mouth to mouth. There was no official data» – the Our Ukraine faction leader Vyacheslav Kyrylenko noted during the rally dedicated to the 89th anniversary of the Kruty battle.

»Ukrainian scientists living abroad were writing the history of Kruty. We have memories of this event thanks to them. A burial mound and a cross appeared on this place when Ukraine became independent. But only leaders of political parties came to Kruty every year and honored the memory of heroes. Many of them are here today» – Mr. Kyrylenko continued.

He noted that when democratic forces had won in the end of 2004, the Kruty battle had been honored at national level. «The monument was opened on this place last year under protection of the President Mr. Yushchenko. I hope that a memorial museum will be founded here in the nearest time».

Vyacheslav Kyrylenko reminded that the Holodomor law had been adopted under pressure of democratic forces. «Anti-Ukrainian majority in the parliament submits more and more initiatives oppressing Ukrainian language and Ukrainian state. The revenge Ukraine faces is not only anti-democratic but anti-Ukrainian as well». – Mr. Kyrylenko emphasized.

He appealed for the unity of all patriotic forces. «We shouldn’t be one by one trying to get to know who is the main and who is the most popular. Only this way we will fight down the revenge. If not the people being in power now will keep mocking at us» – he emphasized.

»If it goes this way, the whole cabinet and the heads of all parliamentary factions will be here at least on the 100th anniversary. The right and the left headed by the president will honor the memory of the Kruty heroes. Such a situation when 300 youngsters came to protect the state and the political leaders were discussing whether it was necessary to protect Ukraine or not will never repeat. The future is in our hands. If we are united, the Kruty tragedy will never repeat.» – Vyacheslav Kyrylenko declared.
