«Ukraine has to confirm its European course because Mr. Yanukovych said that it was too early for Ukraine to enter the EU during his working visit in Davos» – the head of the VR committee on European integration issues Natalya Prokopovych said. As we know, the ninth meeting of the Committee on co-operation between Ukraine and the EU will take place on 31 January.
According to Ms Prokopovych, Yanukovych’s statements such as [he has recently made] in Davos disorient Europe. «Therefore Ukraine must insist on the fact that its every step is forwarded towards the European Union» – she added.
The MP emphasized that during the meeting the two sides would focus their attention on the preparations for the talks on the new agreement, including the formation of the free trade zone and the implementation of the Ukraine-EU Action Plan in the sphere of a political dialogue and economic-social reforms.
Ms Prokopovych emphasized: «I hope that the Economy Minister Mr. Makukha will not follow the example of Mr. Yanukovych and will not hamper European integration of Ukraine».
