«The Kruty battle has always been an example for all patriots in Ukraine, an example of belief in Ukraine’s victory and making a sacrifice for the sake of Ukraine» – the Our Ukraine faction leader V. Kyrylenko told the Razom site.
On Jan. 29 Ukrainian community honors the heroes of the Kruty battle. Students of Kyiv universities were trying to stop Muravyov’s army attack in 1918 near Kruty.
»When Ukraine became independent, people got acquainted with the details of the Kruty battle – Mr. Kyrylenko emphasized. – Investigation is still continued. Only when Mr. Yushchenko came to power the heroes of Kruty have been honored at national level».
He reminded that the Kruty memorial had been opened last year. «It became clear that everybody would remember the feat of Kruty heroes no matter what a political conjuncture was. « – the MP has assured.
On Jan. 29 the Our Ukraine party will hold the event «Kruty heroes», dedicated to the 89th anniversary of this tragic event. The Our Ukraine faction leader Vyacheslav Kyrylenko, the National Institute of Memory director Ihor Yukhnovskyi, MPs, Youth Union Our Ukraine representatives, artists will take part in the event.
